Smart Tool Lockers for a Leading Car Manufacturer
Challenge
A leading global car manufacturer needed a more efficient and accountable way to manage essential tools within a busy production facility. Staff required fast access using their existing credentials, while management needed greater visibility over tool movements, availability and locker occupancy.
Solution
Hublok designed and installed an industrial smart locker system featuring a 10-inch touchscreen and integrated RFID reader. Employees use their existing staff access passes to collect and return authorised tools, with every transaction recorded by the management software. A durable dark-grey finish was selected to suit the demanding manufacturing environment and minimise the appearance of everyday wear.
Outcome
The new system has streamlined tool distribution while improving security and accountability. Facilities and operations teams can identify who accessed each tool, monitor usage frequency and review live locker occupancy, helping to reduce delays, improve asset availability and support more efficient production workflows.
