A Note from our Founder-100 years of family craftsmanship. A milestone worth celebrating.

This year we celebrate a century of the Nott family's dedication to manufacturing. It's an ideal moment to pause and reflect on this remarkable journey. From the small woodworking shop founded by my great-grandfather in 1924, to the multi-faceted enterprise we oversee today, we’ve never lost sight of where we come from, why we do what we do, and who we do it for.

Starting with John Nott Sr, my great-grandfather. A visionary craftsman, his dedication to woodworking laid the foundation for a commitment to quality that is still at the heart of our business today. During World War II, his workshop played a vital role in supporting the war effort by manufacturing the iconic Mosquito planes, cementing the family name with trust and reliability.

John "Jack" Nott, my grandfather, was then known for his passion for innovation - propelling the business forward, navigating challenges and welcoming new opportunities with gusto.

More recently, my uncle - also a John - put his astute mind to good use by expanding our reach and, in doing so, solidified our position as leaders in office furniture manufacturing. In the 1980s, John pioneered the concept of open-plan offices, which revolutionised workspaces and how people worked collaboratively.

My father, Mark Nott, like the generations before him, has continued to guide us through the changing landscape of the industry, while upholding the values that define us and strengthen our position with a market leading brand J F NOTT.

And now my brother, Matthew, leads Nott Office with an unwavering dedication, ensuring that the commitment to excellence synonymous with our name is evident in everything we create as bespoke specialists.

As for me, I’m proud to have founded Hublok, a venture that continues our family's history of innovation. And together, we're shaping the future of commercial furniture with smart locker solutions, combining functionality with cutting-edge technology much like our fathers before us.
